Routledge and Young Shopfitters have made it to the finals of the Shopfitting and Display Industry Awards 2007 for Best Supermarket Project, with Somerfield Broadstone.
The Somerfield Broadstone store was a big challenge for R&Y and tested a variety of shopfitting skills with the support of Head Office. During the re fit R&Y ran a Red Nose Day charity day, where all of the site staff had to wear a red nose for comic relief. It raised over £500 and hit the local press. As well as the welcome publicity, I have heard that the site teams also had a great deal of fun that day.
The Somerfield team were delighted with the outcome of the store, so much so that Barrie Trowsdale, Head of Brand Environments, Somerfield said "I just wanted to express my thanks to you and your team for the fantastic results achieved at Broadstone conversion to Market Fresh. I thought I'd become accustomed to the Market Fresh look and feel and wasn't expecting to be wowed to such a degree. The store is simply fantastic and is not only true to the Market Fresh branding but builds further upon it. I know these projects take a great deal of time and effort and sometimes pain to deliver. I wanted to say well done for a superb job. This really is something to be proud of."
The team are delighted to be up for an award associated with Shopfitting and are hopeful to win. The winners will be announced at The Award Ceremony to be held on June 13th 2007 at a Gala Dinner at The Grosvenor House Hotel.
GOOD LUCK R&Y
